Peace on Earth

Coltrane’s music reminds me that art can still be a moral act, a form of spiritual resistance. In a fragmented and cynical world, his sound keeps telling us that peace is not a utopia, but a real possibility—something to be searched for, every day.

This album comes from facing the weight and greatness of the music of the past, too often reduced today to style or quotation instead of being lived as experience. For me, John Coltrane’s music remains a necessary cry: a voice of truth, pain, and transcendence that refuses complacency.

In this centenary year, in Awakening, Enlightenment, and in the gentle Peace on Earth, I tried to move through this legacy without imitation, moving beyond the need to reproduce it, in order to find an authentic voice within it. This trio is the space for this journey: fragile and radical, where every sound is exposed and every choice is a statement.

In the end, this record is not a tribute, but an act of listening. A way of staying in dialogue with a voice that still points toward a possible direction. And it is in that space of attention and silence that, perhaps, peace is still possible. (Massimiliano Rolff)
